Our Story
The Rivier family belongs to those lineages that leave their mark not through spectacle, but through constancy.
Their name is closely tied to the Domaine du Désert, an emblematic Swiss property in Lausanne, set on the subtle boundary between city and countryside. A place where nature settles as if at home, and where history is etched into pathways as much as into stone.
In 1799, brothers Jean-Théodore and Philippe Rivier acquired the Domaine du Désert.
It marked the beginning of a long chapter during which the family cared for the property for nearly two centuries, up until the late 1980s. A quiet, steady presence that shaped the identity of the estate.
Across generations, the Rivier family expanded its pursuits:
commerce, textiles, land and vineyards. Fields that all demand the same qualities:
to observe, to transform, to transmit.

Our latest creation, Sacré-Cœur, was born from the inspiration of a place and the story of two lovers. Each note in this fragrance is a tribute to the emotions they felt capturing the beauty and complexity of their connection.
